  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sweet smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried garlic
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3 tablespoons paneer breadcrumbs
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 5 eggs
  • Green onions, chopped
  • 4 cherry tomatoes (or 1 medium tomato), diced
  • 1/2 paprika, diced
  • 100g (0.2lb) cheese, grated
  • Butter, for greasing hands and frying
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Salt, to taste

Creamy Onion Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • Butter, for frying
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 150ml (5 fluid ounces) warmed cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  1. Prepare Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, sweet smoked paprika, coriander, black pepper, dried garlic, egg yolks, and paneer breadcrumbs. Mix well until combined. Add finely chopped onion, green onions, diced tomatoes, and diced paprika to the mixture. Mix until evenly distributed.
  2. Form the mixture into balls the size of large walnuts, greasing your hands with butter as needed to prevent sticking.
  3. Cook Meatballs: Heat butter and vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the meatballs on both sides until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. Bake Meatballs: Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the fried meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 35 minutes, or until fully cooked and browned.
  5. Prepare Creamy Onion Sauce: In the same pan used for frying the meatballs, add more butter if needed. Fry the finely chopped onion until golden brown. Sprinkle flour over the onions and lightly toast it, stirring constantly. Gradually pour in the warmed cream, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve: Serve the baked meatballs with the creamy onion sauce drizzled on top.
