  • 2 eggplants
  • 300 grams (10 oz) of ground beef
  • 60 ml (2 fl oz) of water (optional, if the ground beef is very dry)
  • 2-3 tomatoes
  • 60 grams (2 oz) of hard cheese




  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Cut the eggplants into slices about 1-1.5 cm thick.
  3. Lay the slices on a baking sheet, pierce them with a fork, and season with salt.
  4. In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt. If the beef is very dry, add 60 ml of water to moisten it.
  5. Use a spoon to spread the ground beef evenly over the eggplant slices.
  6. Thinly slice the tomatoes and place them on top of the ground beef.
  7. Lightly season the tomatoes with salt.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  9. Grate the hard cheese finely and sprinkle it over the eggplant slices.
  10. Increase the oven temperature to 200°C (400°F) and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden.
